E-Crap's TOP 5
MOVIES of 2007
|

|
1.
Across the Universe
Julie Taymor's masterpiece.
Amazing and fresh renditions of Beatles classics woven into
a mindscape of the turbulent era of the late 60's. A great
year for "music" movies, this was the best - the
music, visuals, story, production, choreography, and T.V.
Carpio as Prudence. The best "music" movie since
Almost Famous. |
| |
2.
Once Another
great, yet less produced "indie" music-related
film that everyone should see. Would have been #1 almost any
other year. |
| |
3.
Into the Wild Great
story, acting, visuals, and Eddie Vedder's soundtrack. |
| |
4.
Eastern Promises Often
gruesome, but well-acted and a plot that keeps interest. |
| |
5. La
Vie En Rose Did
not live up to the hype, but a touching story regardless. |
E-Crap's TOP 5 CD'S
of 2007
 |
1. Travis
Tooke - "Artichoke"
Just like the best 2007
movies were music, the best CD's were "retro."
Travis Tooke, founding member of For Squirrels and Subrosa,
returned from an 8-year hiatus (last seen with Subrosa
opening for Creed on their breakout 1999 tour) with a highly
personal and retrospective album, with the grit and feeling
missing from most current music releases.
|
| |
2.
Paramore - "Riot" With
a lead singer barely 18, Paramore brought back the rock
sounds of Pat Benatar and kick-started a female-fronted rock
sound again. |
| |
3.
Kanye West - "Graduation" The
best of the rap CD's of 2007, West has become a master
rhymer and rhythmer. Not to mention he featured E-Crap's
Rita G. in his "Flashing Lights" video! |
| |
4.
Radiohead - "In Rainbows" More
retro feel. Radiohead, every musician's favorite band,
brought back a modernized sound of 80's and 90's
alternative. |
| |
5.
Kelly Sweet - "We Are One" Another
young female singer to emerge in 2007 with the sweetest
voice around. |
|
